Cheshire Music provides applied music instruction on most instruments. We have four lesson studios that see about 120 students a week. Our teachers are area professionals & teachers all with experience in many different genres of music. |

Dan Farina - Trumpet
Dan Farina is a graduate of Shenandoah College and Conservatory. He has performed with the Maryland Symphony, Dartmouth Glee Club, New England Brass, Monadnock Orchestra, Keene Chamber Orchestra, Windham Orchestra, Granite State Opera and a variety of other ensembles. He can be heard on Disney's DVD "Little Einsteins - Big Huge Adventure" and various episodes of the first season on Playhouse Disney. (Dan was the trumpet of Quincy and the orchestral trumpeter.) He has also recorded with local composer Larry Siegel. Currently Dan is principal trumpet with the NH Philharmonic and The Heritage Brass Quintet as well as playing free-lance with groups in NH, VT, and MA. |

David Berman - Guitar
David Berman has been a musician for over 25 years playing at various venues. He has been the leader of numerous bands, as well as music director for non profit music projects. David teaches with an understanding of the balance between making lessons fun and at the same time keeping his guitar students accountable to their studies. David plays many styles including Rock, Blues, Swing and Country. If your a beginner, or someone who plays and wants to improve your lead guitar skills, David is here to help you reach your goals.

John Meehan - Guitar, Bass, Banjo & Mandolin
John Meehan began teaching guitar at Cheshire Music in 1986 while attending Keene Sate College as a music major, where he studied classical guitar with Mike Nix and Reed Derosiers. He graduated in 1989 with a BS in theory and composition and has continued to teach music while maintaining a steady performance schedule throughout the greater northeast ever since. A lifelong learner, Johns current musical passion is country roots and bluegrass music. He can be found hosting a bluegrass music session most monday nights a Armadillo's Burritos Restaurant in Keene. In addition to teaching a variety of guitar styles John also gives lessons on banjo and mandolin. He resides in Nelson NH with his wife Susy and their fifteen old son Johnny.

Jeff Costello - Drums
Jeff has been playing drums since 1975 and has shared the stage with many artists along the way. Teaching drums now for twenty years and recording with several artists and bands. He teaches stick control and technique along with hand drums.
His approach is practical application leaning towards getting the student playing asap. |

Steve Cady - Acoustic & Electric Bass
Lives in Keene, NH and performs with professional groups throughout New England. As a bassist, Mr. Cady has performed with the Windham Orchestra, The Palace Theatre- Manchester, The “Rat Pack is Back” Review, Raylynmore Opera, Keene Chamber Orchestra, Keene Jazz Orchestra, and The Opera Theatre of Weston. He also works regularly in the Boston area playing general business and jazz bass for private and public functions, and is a first call bassist in the southern New Hampshire area. Steve holds a BM and a BA from Keene State College, where he was a freshman talent-scholar, and KSC Instrumentalist of the Year in 2002. Mr. Cady has been a performer in several world premiers by New Hampshire composer Ted Mann, and has recently completed his own major compositions for jazz ensemble, dance accompaniment and solo bass. Steve has been teaching music at Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, VT since 2003, where he directs a Jazz Ensemble, teaches Music Theory, Music Appreciation, and Electronic Music. Steve is also adjunct instructor of double-bass at The Brattleboro Music Center, The Putney School, and teaches private electric and double-bass students in the Keene area. Mr. Cady enjoys studying improvisation, electronic music, mountain biking, and sailing as personal interests. |

Anna Johnson - Trombone - Piano
Anna Johnson holds a Bachelors degree in music education from Keene
State College. Anna has worked as a professional musicians since her
sophomore year in high school. She has worked as a church
organist/piano accompanist for the last eight years. Anna worked
during breaks from college as a trombonist for Celebrity and Norwegian
cruise lines. She has played on professional productions of Broadway
musicals including: Cats, The Producers, The Full Monty, Cabaret and
42nd Street. Anna plays trombone for The Nines Band and Keene Jazz
Orchestra. |

Scott Mullet - Saxophone
Scott has played and toured with some of the best big bands in the world. After attending Berklee School of Music, Scott toured with Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, and Mel Torme, and joined the national tours of Cats and 42nd Street. He has performed with Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, Lou Rawls, Ben Vereen, Cab Calloway, and many other notable performers.
Scott has been a working musician ever since, and is now a first-call saxophone player for the greater Boston area, doing commercial studio sessions, and performing regularly with the White Heat Swing Orchestra and the C-Jammers. He has taught saxophone clinics at Berklee.
After serving as Musical Director for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in the 90's, he came back to the Monadnock Region and continues to play jazz and teach in the Boston area as well as Cheshire Music.
