Repairs
Cheshire Music has extensive repair facilities. We have done repairs for clients as far away as China (true story). From our lunatic electronics repair tech, John, (seen here attacking me with a shovel after a derogatory comment about Dodge minivans) to our sexy brass and woodwind tech, Michaeline, ( seen here removing a hairy growth from a sausaphone), to our luthier, Nate, king of the humbuckers, (photo pending government approval). At Cheshire Music we understand that your gear is part of your life. We try to get issues resolved in the least amount of time (sometimes with a 24 hour turn around) and for a competetive price. So whether you blew your amp up on Saturday night's gig, want your axe to play like "budda," or found your grandfather's tuba in the attic, Cheshire Music can help.

Michaeline Corkum

Realizing her lifelong dream of being Princess Aurora at Disney World would never come true, Michaeline thought that perhaps she’d be better suited for something else. The daughter of musicians, and a Tenor Saxophone player herself, going to band instrument repair school seemed the next best alternative. After graduating with honors from Western Iowa Technical with a certificate in Band Instrument Repair in 1994, Michaeline began her repair career working for Eckroth Music in Billings, MT. Life out in Big Sky Country suited her well and it is here that she developed her affinity for cowboy boots.

Moving East to be closer to family in 1996 she started her own repair business. Raven Brass & Wind does repairs for Blue Mountain Guitar, The Vintage Fret Shop, SRH Sound Works, and most recently Cheshire Music!! In house times are Mondays and Thursday with pick up and drop off at anytime during store hours. Michaeline has also worked in house for Vermont Musical Instrument Repair, Ellis Music Company, and Ted Herbert’s Music.

When not repairing, Michaeline enjoys: spending time with her daughter, Morgan and her Shih Tzu, Gimlet, belly dancing, dreaming about traveling to Europe, watching reruns of Monty Python, Little Britain, The Thin Blue Line, and Absolutely Fabulous, baking cookies, listening to an eclectic range of music ( from Mozart to Rob Zombie), and planning her next trip to Disney World.

John

When we first meet John he was a dancer at Chippendale's and rebuilding Russian Mig 21's part time. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the demand for Johns Mig's declined rapidly. What was he to do with his collection of vacuum tubes? After his failed attempt to build a all-tube time machine disrupted the time-space continuum, he set his sights on fixing vintage tube guitar amplifiers and other electronic devices. John studied at MIT and still fixes lab equipment there and at other high tech companies in the Boston area.

Nate Wright

Nate is all strings, all the time. From simple guitar set ups, to rebuilding ancient violins Nate is our go to guy at Cheshire Music. Nate has extensive experience re-wiring guitars, re-setting necks, fixing bridges, plus much more. His easy going personality and willingness to give our customers exactly what they want makes him an invaluable part of our team. "If Nate can't fix it, its not broken."
